TRS claims credit for securing 19 National Highway projects from the Centre

He stated the new 338-km long Regional Ring Road in Hyderabad coming next to Outer Ring Road will be completed in two years.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday claimed credit for securing 19 highway projects from the Centre so far. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly on Friday, Mr Rao said gross injustice was meted to Telangana in undivided AP in sanctioning of highways due to which Telangana lagged behind in the country.

He said Telangana, which stood last in south India in terms of length of national highways when the state was formed in June 2014, has climbed to the top slot with newly sanctioned highways. He stated the new 338-km long Regional Ring Road in Hyderabad coming next to Outer Ring Road will be completed in two years. After new roads, he said the total length of highways in TS will increase to 5,303-km. As against the national average of 3.81 km, Telangana state will have 4.62 km.
