Hyderabad: The Telangana State government is planning to extend hearse ambulance services to corporate and private hospitals for transporting dead bodies of patients from poorer sections of the society to their native places free of cost. At present, these services are confined to government hospitals. The government has recently bought 50 ambulances.
Opposition MLAs have brought to the notice of the government in the Assembly on Friday that people from poorer families are facing several hardships to transport the dead bodies of their family members from corporate hospitals located in Hyderabad to their native places. They said people from poorer sections are being treated in corporate hospitals in city under Arogyasri but they can’t avail the service of these ambulances.
