Tiruchy: Congress stir over economy mess

Earlier, Mr. Azhagiri and Sanjay Dutt handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh on behalf of the TNCC to the parents of two-year-old Sujith Wilson.

Tiruchy: The Congress led by TNCC president K S Azhagiri on Saturday held a demonstration here on Saturday to condemn the Centre's anti-people economic policies, and also to condemn the 'indirect election' ordinance for chairpersons of urban local bodies in Tamil Nadu.

The AICC secretary in-charge of Tamil Nadu, Sanjay Dutt, who also took part in the demonstration, condemned the Narendra Modi government's decision to withdraw SPG security cover to Mrs Sonia Gandhi and her family.

The TNCC working president Vasanth Kumar, party spokesperson Tiruchy Velusamy, district Congress president Jawahar and others were among those who participated in the demonstration.

Earlier, Mr. Azhagiri and Sanjay Dutt handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh on behalf of the TNCC to the parents of two-year-old Sujith Wilson who lost his life in the bore-well tragedy at Nadukkattupatti village near Manaparai in Tiruchy district recently.
