T P Senkumar unaware of Guv rumours

It may be recalled that Senkumar had successfully fought a legal battle against the LDF government for removing him from State Police Chief post.

Thiruvananthapuram: Former state police chief T.P. Senkumar has said that so far he has no information regarding the reports in a section of media that he is being considered by the BJP as Governor in Kerala.

“Till now I have no information that I am being considered by the BJP as a Governor. Hence I did not even apply any thought on it so far. In case any such offers come, I will think about it only at that point,” Mr. Senkumar told DC in reaction to the reports in a section of media that the BJP was considering him as Kerala Governor..

Meanwhile, sources close to Senkumar said that the media reports could be even a ploy to brand Senkumar as a BJP man. “There could be a fear among some in the government that BJP may make Senkumar as Governor. Hence such news are being spread to scuttle any such moves,” said sources close to him.

It may be recalled that Senkumar had successfully fought a legal battle against the LDF government for removing him from State Police Chief post. A series of cases initiated against him were also scrapped by various courts. There were also allegations that a fresh vigilance investigation might be initiated by the government against him to scuttle his chances of getting appointed as Kerala Administrative Tribunal member.

Mr. Senkumar also said that his recent meeting with BJP president Amit Shah was regarding the scope of the centre bringing in a legislation to protect Sabarimala and other temples.
