Sudden rain bogs down Bengaluru city traffic
Bengaluru: Traffic was hit across the city as traffic moved ever so slowly because of continuous rains since morning on Friday.
Traffic jams were reported on several major arterial and sub-arterial roads. Office-goers and students had a tough time reaching offices and schools, and coming back home.
The weatherman attributed the sudden rains to a low pressure created over Bay of Bengal. The cloudy weather and light to moderate rain will continue for the next couple of days, said Mr Srinivas Reddy, director, Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Cell. He said Tamil Nadu and south-interior Karnataka have been affected.
As the BBMP has failed to fill potholes, sudden showers have added to the misery of motorists. Potholes have doubled on many stretches because of the rain.
