Coimbatore: Food adulteration prevention officials sealed a fake ghee factory near Sai Baba Colony in the city and seized several litres of the product.
Based on a tipoff, a team of food adulteration prevention officials led by officer Dr. Vijaya Lalithambigai raided a ghee packing unit functioning in a rented building near Sai Baba Colony on Karuppanan street.
Officials found that the ghee was of poor quality and mixed with palm oil, 'vanaspathy' and chemical essence and the containers had fake labels of the three top brands in the market with fake addresses.Officials issued a notice to the owner Pon Raj and his two workers.
