GHMC seeks to cover up its stand on dump yard
Hyderabad: GHMC is trying to cover up its lies in court after the hearing in the court on November 20, say residents of Nallagandla. This is regarding the ‘illegal dump yard’ at Nallagandla rock garden, allegedly created by the GHMC. GHMC officials had clarified their stand in the court stating that the park area was merely used for segregation purposes and not for dumping following which an advocate commissioner was hired to view the site and submit a report in three weeks. However, residents say that just before the inspection, GHMC had hired about 30 workers and machinery to clear the dump and have been continuing to work on clearing the dumpyard day and night, since Tuesday.
Mr Vivekanand Pandey, a resident, says, “Illegal construction has started up in the park. A ramp was built in the park overnight just to prove that the park is a segregation unit. On Wednesday night, two JCBs and about 20 people worked overnight to clear the area.” He further says, “The court appointed advocate commissioner, Ms Kadari Anjamma who will be coming on Saturday. An attempt is being made desperately now by the GHMC to cover-up the garbage in the park and also to create a transit station.”
Citizens have also registered a complaint with the DCP of Madhapur about the illegal encroachment. Uma Mahesh, a resident says, “Any kind of construction with concrete is illegal in the park. It is an attempt to change the physical features of the rock garden which is a designated park under the HUDA layout in 2010.” Mr Vishwa Prasad, the DCP of Madhapur says, “We received the complaint and have acknowledged the same. Our inspector has gone and verified the complaint. We will share our findings with the advocate.”
