Anantapur: Sathya Sai Baba's birth anniversary celebrated

Many programmes including singing mark the event.

ANANTAPUR: The 92nd birth anniversary of Sathya Sai Baba was celebrated with grandeur. ‘Happy Birthday Swami' reverberated and resounded through the morning, as Prasanthi Nilayam celebrated the day with a series of events. Students presented short stints of performances that included the Bagpiper band from the primary school, percussion band, Panchavadyam troupe, University band from Prasanthi Nilayam along with band squads from Brindavan and Anantapur campuses.

The Prasanthi music group sang ‘Bhagavandu Puttina Panduga...’ The session continued interspersed with commentary on his ‘Avatara Vaibhavam’, presenting some of the most endearing numbers. Mr S.S. Naganand, member trustee, SSSCT, presented the Annual Report for the year 2016-17 of the activities of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Mr Naganand detailed many areas of activities, including a few of the latest initiatives.

A book release followed next, Sathya Sai Baba Lives On, authored by member trustee, Dr V. Mohan. The book talks about Dr Mohan’s experiences with Sathya Sai Baba. Mr Leonardo Gutter from SSIO, Argentina, narrated his experience of induction into the Sai fraternity, vide a transcendental experience that happened decades ago. Concluding his speech, Mr Gutter said, “I have an Argentinean passport, but I am a Bharatiya, as Bharatiya means one who loves God and we all love God.”
