Hyderabad Top Cop Reviews Security Ahead Of November Polls

Hyderabad: The city police commissioner, Sandeep Shandilya, in a series of meetings on Monday and Tuesday, oversaw the security arrangements for the November 30 Telangana state Assembly elections.

Seven companies of CAPFs have been already deployed in the Rachakonda commissionerate, while another seven CARF companies will be deployed in Cyberabad soon, police sources said.

Shandilya held a coordination meeting with Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) at TSPICCC, after he had, on Monday, briefed allied armed forces and zonal heads of law and order police about the critical polling stations, stressing on fast deployment by stationing personnel at critical points.

“These forces will work along with the city police in all poll-related duties,” said Shandilya.

The commissioner instructed ACPs to make accommodation arrangements and work in tandem with the Central forces, calling for due care while on duty at checkposts to avoid inconveniencing the public.

The CAPF meeting was attended by additional commissioner Vikram Singh Mann, senior police officials, five assistant commandants and 11 company staff officers of the CAPFs.
