Thiruvananthapuram: BJP demands probe into violence at Sabarimala
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai has demanded a judicial probe into the recent happenings at Sabarimala and said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was speaking like a defeated leader.
Mr. Pillai told repor-ters here that it was unfair on the part of the chief minister to criticise the Sabarimala tan-tri. “Mr Vijayan is trying to act like the chief tantri of Sabarimala,” he said. “It is understandable if the CM speaks against him or makes political statements. But the tantri is like a father figure of the Sabarimala shrine,” he added.
"The CM has lost his 'balance' as he felt that he was losing the battle. He should admit that he has gone wrong on the Sabarimala issue. It is not the Sangh Parivar which has created trouble at Sabarimala," said Mr. Pillai.
He clarified that the BJP’s decision to hold protests at Pathanamt-hitta was to avoid conflicts at Sabarimala. He asked for proof to show the involvement of RSS activists in the violence. “If the LDF government orders a judicial probe, the role of CPM activists in the violence at Sabarimala will be proved,” he said.
