TD men succeed in transfer of SP
Nellore: Finally, TD leaders of SPSR Nellore district have succeeded in their efforts to transfer Nellore SP P.H.D. Ramakrishna. He was one among the host of IPS officials transferred by the State Government on Tuesday.
A young IPS officer of 2013 batch Aishwarya Rastogi, who has been working as an ASP in Visakapatnam Rural, has been posted in the place of Ramakrishna.
Known as a tough and honest officer, Ramakrishna caused sleepless nights to anti-social elements, smugglers and those involved in cricket betting. In fact, he was responsible for busting a cricket betting racket and arresting a notorious bookie Krishna Singh in August 2017. He was held along with 115 bookies, sub-bookies, financiers under various police station limits in the district. They seized '44,24,330 as cash, 27.5 sovereigns of gold, 96 mobile phones, 10 laptops, 1 LED TV and a communicator from their possession.
Ramakrishna also caused jitters to the Opposition YSRC by summoning two legislators of the party, representing Nellore City and rural for questioning in the case.
The SP’s concentrated efforts to contain illegal transportation of sand, silica and belt shops caused annoyance to some ruling party leaders because the men behind the operations were allegedly close to them.
The ruling party bigwigs were also unhappy with the SP because he was not entertaining their recommendations for the transfer of police officials.
