Remove all flex boards by Oct 31: Kerala High Court

Officials to bear expenses in case of failure.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday issued strict instructions to remove all roadside flex boards in the state by Oct 30.

Officials concerned will be asked to bear the expenditure and the loss for the same if they fail to enforce the ban.

The court came down sharply on the officials showing reluctance to remove them on the earlier directive and ordered the district collector and the police chief to ensure it.

The local administration secretary should also make sure that the order of the court by the relevant rule of the National Highway Act are fully complied with.
The court also directed the Kollam Corporation secretary to present in the court on November 12 for ignoring an earlier order in the matter.

It castigated the state government for ignoring four orders of the court in connection with the removal of flex boards.

The court also observed that the people could directly approach the nodal officers appointed by the government directly for their removal.
