#MeToo movement: Support grows for Arjun Sarja

Many from the industry vouched for Arjun Sarja's gentlemanly character and hailed him for his work ethics and professionalism.

Bengaluru: The #MeToo movement in Sandalwood, especially the allegations made by Sruthi Hariharan, has divided the Kannada film industry. But Arjun Sarja, the senior actor who is accused of being the perpetrator, is steadily gaining support from within the industry as majority of the people are questioning the actress over the timing of her allegations.

Many from the industry vouched for Arjun Sarja’s gentlemanly character and hailed him for his work ethics and professionalism.

On Tuesday, it was the turn of senior actresses Sarojini Devi, Sudharani, Tara and multilingual actress-turned-politician Khushboo to heap praise on Arjun Sarja. Actress Khusbhoo, who made her acting debut alongside Sarja three decades ago, said that Arjun is a gentleman and that she shares a cordial relationship with him, both at professional and personal level for the last 34 years.

On Tuesday, actor Jaggesh questioned the timing of Sruthi's allegations and wondered why she did not raise the issue on the day it happened.
