Hyderabad HC raps Centre, Telangana over relief to NSG commando

Directing the authorities to take a decision in this regard within a week , the bench said that otherwise it will pass the orders.

Hyderabad: Moved by the plight of an NSG commando who was bedridden with severe injuries he received in the terrorist attack in Pathankote, the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday pulled up the Centre and the Telangana state government for not extending the due respect to heroic soldiers who have been protecting the country at the cost of their lives.

A division bench comprising CA division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt while dealing with a PIL taken up suo motu on the pathetic condition of K. Ramulu, an NSG Commando, observed that the governments have to remember that soldiers never beg. The bench said whenever a soldier dies or is hurt political leaders pay tributes and make promises which they seldom keep.

When newspapers carried reports about his pathetic condition, Justice S.V. Bhatt had written a letter to the Chief Justice to take up the case as a PIL to rescue the family of the commando.

Maintaining that it is not proper on the part of the governments to taking the issue casually, the bench said that the authorities have to act in this issue as a trigger at their head. Directing the authorities to take a decision in this regard within a week , the bench said that otherwise it will pass the orders.
