Hyderabad: After inserting the catheter in a child to give medicines in Niloufer Hospital, the junior doctor, Dr Vishnu K turned to attend to other patients, but angry attendants and relatives of the child tried to beat him. While the doctor was not hurt, there was chaos in the hospital as the doctor was attacked.
The child had come in a critical condition but after insertion of the catheter, it took time to give the medicines. There were more than 50 paediatric patients waiting in the queue and there were too many parents demanding that the medicines must be first given to their children.
This is what made Dr Vishnu move to the next patient but relatives of the child were angered into trying to beat him up. The other junior doctors and paramedical staff rushed to help him.
The case was taken to the resident medical officer.
