Vijayawada: AP Congress Committee vice-president, N. Thulasi Reddy, termed the Deekshas of BJP seeking justice for Agri Gold victims as fake Deekshas and demanded that the BJP leaders pressurise the BJP led Union government to resolve the AgriGold issue. Addressing a press meet at the State Congress office at Vijayawada on Tuesday, he said that '7,623 crore were required to settle the AgriGold issue; hence the BJP led Union government should take over AgriGold to do justice to the victims. He stated that there were 32 lakh AgriGold victims in AP, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, of which 19.52 lakh victims belonged to AP alone and AgriGold had to pay Rs 3,957 crore to AP victims.
Mentioning the ongoing protests of the BJP demanding justice to AgriGold victims, Mr Thulasi Reddy stated that the BJP had been silent on the AgriGold issue for the past few years but was now adopting the issue to get political mileage.
