No data leakage on Aadhaar site
HYDERABAD: There are no data leakage problems from the Aadhaar servers and networking, assured Mr Rudra Murthy, an official with the Union ministry of home affairs. He noted that as the media was reporting, leakages were taking place in the Aadhaar eco-system. “The print media has covered reports recently casting doubt on the role of collection agencies for leakages,” Mr Murthy, chief information security officer at Digital India, said, while responding to a query on the security of Aadhaar data, which includes personal information as well as biometrics.
The entities availing of Aadhaar services and collecting data were reportedly comprising on subscriber information and the need of the hour was to strengthen the privacy framework, Mr Murthy said. Mr P. Prasad, an expert in cyber security, said the government should take care of data protection not only from server side but also from client side by using latest technologies and web auditing methods.
