Pollution is a big problem in Warangal Urban
Warangal Urban: The Balasamudram road connecting Hanamkonda bus station with Kaloji Centre has turned into a nightmare for road users and is causing pollution to locals.
This is the main route for buses going towards Hyderabad. In addition, the Kaloji Kala Kshetram is being built at the Hayagreeva Chary ground on this road. As a result, there is always heavy traffic with tractors and lorries carrying building material apart from the RTC buses churning up a good amount of dust throughout the day.
“It is a busy road and in addition it is in such bad condition that dust is entering our houses and settling everywhere including on the food we eat. We are breathing the dust and the children are complaining of throat irritation.
The recent heavy rains battered this road. The officials say the road is being widened and after that a new road will be laid. But neither widening nor new road laying works are going on,” complained Mr D. Manohar Rao of Srinivasnagar Colony.
MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar inaugurated the widening of this road more than a year back but the work never took off. Road users say driving on this road has become very dangerous as there are several potholes.
“Because of the road, the vehicles are getting damaged. This is one of the most used roads in the city. The officials must take immediate action to repair it and save the citizens from the trouble it is causing,” said Mr T. Narender, who takes the road daily from Advocates Colony to the bus station on his bike from where he goes to Jangaon for work.
The road in front of the bus station is also badly damaged during the rainy season.
