BHUBANESWAR: Two people have been arrested for allegedly torturing and humiliating a school teacher after the latter filed a police complaint against them.
One of the accused, said to be the husband of a sarpanch in Odisha’s Nayagarh district is accused of subjecting Sridhar to a series of ‘punishments’.
Sridhar had filed a complaint after a recent altercation. But accused Jagannath Nayak and Jogendranath Swain took Sridhar from the police station and presented him in front of a kangaroo court.
There, the teacher was repeatedly beaten and made to crawl between the legs of one of the village heads. Villagers even video-taped the incident.
Cops made two arrests on Saturday following a complaint from the teacher’s family.
