The trio soon found it difficult to stay afloat and drowned, police said.
Hyderabad: Two students drowned in a lake in Yadadri district on Sunday. The dead are M. Nikhil, 15, and S. Sai Kumar, 15, from Bhuvanagiri town. They were studying in Class X at the Presidency High School.
Bibinagar police said that both the students and nine of their friends attended the birthday function of their classmate R. Ranjit. They celebrated the function on the banks of Chinnaneetivagu in Gudur. After the party, some students got down into the lake for swimming. Meanwhile, Nikil and Sai Kumar went to a deep area of the lake and got drowned. The bodies were sent to Bhuvanagiri area hospital for autopsy. Police registered a case.
