Hyderabad: In the investigation by education officials on Monday, it was found that about 65 students were given transfer certificates (TCs) from VI to X standards in the Raj Bhavan government school in the current academic year alone.
Officials are contacting parents of all the children to know the exact reason for the TCs.
It is alleged that most students studying in the Xth standard of the Raj Bhavan school were given TCs as they were not performing well and were forcibly asked to give a written request that they wanted TCs, as the school was under pressure to get 100 per cent results.
Education officials said that the investigation is still going on.
They went to the Raj Bhavan school and spoke to the school management which said that TCs were given as per parents’ preference as some of them were migrating to other areas and some students had very poor attendance.
Officials are also getting in touch with parents of all children who took TCs in the academic year and full details will be revealed on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a petition has been made to the Human Rights Commission by the Balala Hakkula Sangham regarding the transfer certificate issue, and seeking a direction to the district education officer, Hyderabad to call back all children to the Raj Bhavan school and action initiated on the headmaster and teachers for violating child rights and the Right To Education (RTE) Act.
