Interim panel for Govindu Naicker trust

The scheme to be framed by this court for the GNT shall comprise 5 trustees from the Hindu community, the bench added.

Chennai: The Madras high court has appointed an interim management committee for the Govindu Naicker Trust (GNT) headed by Justice Chitra Venkataraman, a retired judge of the Madras high court as chairman, who shall immediately take over the entire management of the GNT from the Pachaiyappa’s Trust.

Allowing an appeal from P. Elumalai and P. Thirugnanam, a division bench comprising Justices Rajiv Shakdher and Abdul Quddhose said the Pachaiyappa's trust shall hand over all properties, account books and other documents of the GNT to the chairman of the interim management committee.
Pointing that the Pachaiyappa's Trust and its trustees have committed a breach of GNT, which necessitates framing a separate scheme, the bench posted the matter to January 2, 2018, for submission of draft schemes for approval of the court.

The bench said the chairman of the interim management committee shall release an ad in prominent Tamil & English newspapers seeking a detailed scheme for GNT.

The scheme to be framed by this court for the GNT shall comprise 5 trustees from the Hindu community, the bench added. Canceling the lease deed registered in favour of T. Pachaiyappan in respect of the property situated in Kancheepuram district, the bench directed him to hand over the vacant possession of the property to the chairman of the interim management committee imme diately.
