Volunteers join GHMC in fixing roads

Vehicles used for towing were used for supplying pothole-filling material.

Hyderabad: Traffic movement remained slow in the city on Friday despite the efforts of traffic and law and order police and GHMC teams and interested citizens filling in potholes.

While closure of educational institutions helped a lot in terms of number of vehicles on the roads, vehicle movement was slow due to bad roads and overflowing of rain water.

“We are also going to take the help of college students and NGOs to fill more potholes on Saturday. Traffic police will be focusing on road repairs for the next two days,” said deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Mr A.V. Ranganath.

Vehicles used for towing were used for supplying pothole-filling material. Traffic cops said they have also contacted the National Cadet Corps who have agreed to take part in pothole filling operation on Saturday. “We are expecting NCC and other volunteers to take part in pothole filling,” Mr Ranganath added.
