Hyderabad: To attract the attention of media, a few youths circulated a fake video on social media that was even telecast by a few channels. The video purported to show the youths assisting a driver in pulling out a mini-truck which was drifted into a pothole on a waterlogged road at Nacharam.
The video shows a man going near the vehicle and purportedly disappearing. While the video ends there, the clip was circulated along with a message stating: “He was rescued.”
Nacharam inspector N. Pravinder said video was fake. “Someone circulated the video online and a few channels carried it. During our investigation, we found no such incident occurred at Nacharam,” he said.
At Nacharam nala which overflowed on the main road, a person intentionally fell down to attract the attention of mediapersons who were on other side of the road. When locals dragged him out from the water, they found he was drunk.
