Police want BS Yeddyurappa's PA's bail cancelled

Santosh had obtained anticipatory bail to evade arrest. For the past one week he has been appearing before the investigating officers.

Bengaluru: The police have filed a petition before a local court seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail plea by Santosh, the personal assistant (PA) of state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa and a prime suspect in an attempt to kidnap case, citing his non-cooperation with the investigation.

Police are interrogating Santhosh, for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping attempt of Vinay, the PA of BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa, on May 11.

Santosh had obtained anticipatory bail to evade arrest. For the past one week he has been appearing before the investigating officers. However, the officers allege Santosh was not cooperating with them.

“He is not answering questions properly and refusing to hand over his mobile phone from which we can retrieve data that can assist us in the investigation. We have approached the court seeking cancellation of his bail,” a police source told Deccan Chronicle.

The investigating officers feel they can make progress only of his bail is cancelled.

Meanwhile, the local court has issued a notice to Santosh summoning him to appear on Thursday.

It may be mentioned that the Mahalakshmi Layout police have so far arrested nine people in connection with this case. All the accused, including Rajendra Urs - the city BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary, have named Santosh. They reportedly told interrogators that they had acted as per Santosh’s instructions.
