Kerala High Court deals another stinker on KK Shylaja

Though the state sought to stay the order, the court adjourned the case to Thursday.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has expressed doubts over the appointment of a CPM member who was involved in several criminal cases as a member of the State Child Rights Commission. When the appeal filed by the state government came up for hearing, the court asked why the government had selected a person accused in criminal cases in a commission to protect the rights of the children.

Though the state sought to stay the order, the court adjourned the case to Thursday.

The court was considering an order on the appeal filed by state government seeking to expunge the adverse remarks against health minister K.K. Shylaja by a single judge while quashing the appointments of Mr T.B. Sureshkumar, CPM Wayanad district committee member and Ms Shyamala Devi (Kasargod) as members of the State Child Rights Commission.
