Will support Tamil Nadu government only for 3-year exemption from Neet: BJP

Chennai: The BJP, which has been opposing the State government's stand on demanding complete exemption for students from National Eligibility cum Entrance (NEET), said the party is willing to support the government if it sought exemption for a period of three years.

Contending that total exemption from Neet will not augur well for the students, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said her party is willing to extend support to the State government if it was prepared to ask exemption for three years.

The political parties in Tamil Nadu, including the ruling AIADMK, have been vociferously demanding that the State be exempted from Neet, which is required for students for admission into medical and dental colleges, alleging bias against them in the examination.
