Nanakramguda traffic rules eased
Hyderabad: Authorities had to roll back their decision of closing roads and making Nanakramguda one way so that white topping the roads could be facilitated. With employees and school children using this road mainly, the closure caused huge problems.
As a corrective measure, the traffic police have decided to allow RTC buses from Khajaguda junction to Nanakramguda now.
On Saturday, employees and school students had to walk from ORR junction to Khajaguda and Nanakramguda.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is operating buses from Mehdipatnam to Khajaguda, Nanakramguda and Gowlidoddi localities and students and employees from these localities utilize the bus services.
Students from nearby localities to Nanakramguda government school also have only one source of transportation with the Free Bus Pass, the RTC bus.
The bus (Route Number: 116N) regularly goes through Khajaguda junction to Khajaguda, Nanakramguda and Gowlidoddi but due to traffic restrictions and no communication with the RTC regarding this by the traffic police, drivers reached Nanakramguda much later than expected.
Few drivers took the long route from Khajaguda Junction to Gachibowli and from there to Nanakramguda through Outer Ring Road. But, traffic police did not allow the bus drivers to reach Nanakramguda main road from the ORR. Due to this, many students and employees had to walk to Gowlidoddi and Nanakramguda from the ORR junction.
Madhapur traffic inspector T. Narsing Rao said that it was a mistake by the traffic staff and that the department would allow RTC busses on the road from Monday.
Few colonies between Khajaguda junction and Nanakramguda have only one route to commute and that is the main road.
There are no alternative routes. Due to this reason, traffic police decided to allow people from these colonies to use the restricted road.
