Hyderabad Muslim bodies protest israel action

The protest meeting was held at the Jamia Masjid Darulshifa on Sunday afternoon.

Hyderabad: Speakers at a programme organised in the Old City condemned the “atrocities of Israel” in Palestine and asked the Indian government to condemn Jerusalem.

The protest meeting was held at the Jamia Masjid Darulshifa on Sunday afternoon and attended by representatives of social and religious organisations.

Maulana Abdul Mughani of Jamaat-e-Islami said it was for the first time in several decades that Israel forces had prevented Palestinians from offering prayers at the Al-Aqsa mosque. “The Arab world should have reacted strongly but it failed to do it. Not voicing their concerns is nothing short of supporting Israel,” he said.

A separate round-table-conference was held over the same issue by the United Muslim Forum for Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh. Apart from condemning the atrocities of Israel the forum also condemned the lynching of minorities in India. It also criticised the Union government for its inaction in dealing with cow vigilantism.

The meeting was attended by Moulana Raheem Uddin Ansari, Moulana Syed Akbar Nizamuddin, Moulana Syed Qubool Pasha Shuttari and others.
