Laying foundation stone set for tech centre in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Interacting with the agitated workers of Brandix apparel unit at Achyutapuram, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced a wage hike of Rs 1,000 effective from this month and asked the management to form a wage board for periodical hike of the employees. Mr Naidu visited the Brandix apparel unit and interacted with the women workers, who have been agitating on for hike of their wages.
Mr Naidu stated that TD government is committed for development of industrial corridor in Vizag region to create employment. Addressing a meeting after laying foundation stone for Technology Centre Systems Programme centre of MSME at Pudi near Achyutapuram in Vizag district, Mr Naidu said he has been touring all over the globe to get investments so as to compete with the neighboring states.
The Technology Centre is being developed at a cost of Rs 140 crore. The new facility is part of expanding the network of technology centres all over the country at a cost of Rs 2,200 crore, including World Bank funding of $200 million, under the Technology Centre Systems Programme.
The CM announced a slew of projects for Vizag district including rehabilitation for 600 families at Duppituru apart from a flyover at a cost of Rs 20 crore for Achyutapuram, Rs 23 crore drinking water project for Rambilli. He inaugurated 400 houses built by the APHB for those who lost their houses in Hudhud cyclone and another 200 houses.
