Guntur: An exclusive Pushkar ghat would be arranged for VVIPs at Undavalli. Special officers were appointed to speed up the Pushkar ghat works at Dharanikota and Penumudi ghats to develop them as model ghats.
As many as 20 Pushkarnagars would serve the devotees during Krishna Pushkaralu in the Guntur district. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is living in the Lingamaneni Guest House situated on the Karakatta of Krishna river.
The officials are expecting visits of VVIPs for a holy bath and further to meet Mr Naidu. A senior official, on the condition of anonymity, said that the CM house and its surroundings are covered under high security zone with round-the-clock surveillance. If the VVIPs would take a bath on the Durga ghat or other ghats at Vijayawada side, then security and traffic problems will araise to take them to the CM’s house. So, a VVIP ghat has been proposed near the CM’s house.
Already there is a helipad in front of the CM’s residence and now another helipad would be provided at the VVIP ghat for the arrival and departure of VVIPs. The Guntur district administration proposed 20 Pushkarnagars in Guntur district. Besides this, the Pushkar ghats were divided into A Plus, A, B and C categories.
Old Amaravati, Dharani-kota, Seethanagaram 1 and 2 ghats were identified as A-Plus ghats, Tallaya-palem 1 & 2, Penumudi 1 & 2, Satrasala 1 & 2, Vijaya-puri South and Anupu ghats are included in the A category. The rest of ghats in Guntur were identified as B and C categories and special officers were appointed to all ghats for the smooth performance of Krishna Pushkaralu....
