ECI conducted meeting with collectors, SPs

HYDERABAD: Focusing on improving voting percentage, the Election Commission of India conducted a review meeting here on Friday. Collectors, superintendents of police of all 33 districts took part in the meeting.

The ECI delegation from New Delhi sought information from district election officers and collectors on their preparedness for the Assembly elections, expected to be held towards the end of the year.

The meeting discussed additions and deletions in voter lists, the inclusion of transgenders, persons with disabilities and voters aged over 80. Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, senior deputy election commissioners Dharmendra Sharma, Nitish Kumar Vyas, deputy election commissioners R.K. Gupta, Hirdesh Kumar, Manoj Kumar Sahoo and others were present.
