Bridge built over Kalasiguda Nala open for traffic

HYDERABAD: Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Friday inaugurated the bridge on the Kalasiguda Nala on Friday, built as part of the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) at a cost of ₹20 crores. Traffic can now ply across the nala.

The construction of a bridge on the Picket nala on Minister Road, along with the restoration work on various sections of the Kalasiguda nala, was aimed at alleviating the problem of flooding in the neighbouring areas during the rains.

As part of the SRDP, measures such as widening the canal, raising the height of bridges and facilitating smooth water flow were implemented.

Speaking at the event, Srinivas Yadav highlighted the efforts undertaken by Minister K.T. Rama Rao to identify flood-prone areas and undertake projects to address the issue. He said that inundation of Sindhi Colony, Rasoolpura, Minister Road and parts of the Cantonment during the rainy season would be a thing of the past with the reconstruction of the Kalasiguda nala and Minister Road Picket nala bridge under the SRDP.
