Maoists should be counselled by their kin: Ramagundam top cop

Karimnagar: Family members of Maoists must urge their kin to drop weapons and join the mainstream of society, suggested Ramagundam police commissioner V. Satyanarayana on Thursday.

The top cop visited the house of CPI-Maoist central committee member, Mallojula Venu Gopal Rao and met his mother Maduramma. He urged her to counsel her son to join the mainstream of life and lead a new life.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana said that the outlawed outfit would not achieve anything with their ideologies and violence. Once they enter the mainstream, they would be duly rehabilitated, he said. The government and the police department are striving hard for the welfare of the people and resolving their problems, he said.

Peddapalli DCP Ravinder, OSD Sharath Chandra Pawar, ACP Sarangapani, CI Pradeep Kumar and traffic CI Anil were present on the occasion.
