TIRUCHY: In a very painful tragedy, three of a family travelling by a motorcycle were fatally knocked down by a speeding car at Kumbakkudi near Tiruchy on Sunday.
Police said the deceased were identified as Ramachandran (45) working as an electrician in the Customs department here, his wife Mrs. Vinitha (34) and their daughter Rajashri (8).
They were returning home after attending a function at OFT when the mishap occurred. It was a gruesome scene at the accident site. Navalpattu police have taken into custody the car driver Mohamad Ali Jinnah of Pudukkottai for alleged rash driving and are investigating.
