Hyderabad: Cops suggest alternative routes

The police advised motorists to follow discipline and avoid wrong side driving.

Hyderabad: Following Friday’s chaos on the roads after a spell of rain in the IT corridor, the Cyberabad traffic police on Sunday released a list of alternative roads that motorists could take in the event of traffic jams.

After a study of the roads, the traffic police has identified four routes with more vehicular traffic and suggested alternative routes. The police advised motorists to follow discipline and avoid wrong side driving.

The traffic police said the traffic snarls were caused by waterlogging on certain roads leading towards the city.

These were found on the road from Madhapur to Road No. 45 Jubilee Hills, at Ayyappa Society on the road between Cyber Towers and Kavuri Hills junction, near Shilparamam on the road between Hitex and Cyber Towers junction, and at the newly-constructed underpass near Raheja Mindspace campus on the road between Cyber Gateway and Mindspace. Waterlogging at Shilparamam for half-an-hour would cause traffic congestion at Kothaguda, Botanical Gardens, Gachibowli for two to three hours.
