Vijayawada: Narreddy Manvitha from Kadapa district, the Neet topper from AP, is headed for the All India Institute for Medical Sciences where she had secured the 18th rank.

Manvitha has secured the 14th rank overall in Neet and topped AP. She was ranked 5th in AP Eamcet, 13th in TS Eamcet and 29th in JIPMER. In Neet, she scored 99.998440 percentile marks.

Pavuluri Sai Swetha of Visakhapatnam was ranked 36, Phani Lasya from Nellore 51 and Manoj Pavan Reddy of Anantapur 59. About 70,000 students took the test in the state.

Manvitha’s father Narreddy Ravaneeswar Reddy is an assistant engineer at the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant in Muddanur.

Mr Reddy said he was confident of her success as she used to work hard from elementary school. “She studied about 14-16 hours every day targeting a top rank in Neet”, he said. The family had expected a rank around 60, but she exceeded their expectations.

Amid celebrations at her home, Manvitha said, “I am interested in doing medicine at AIIMS, New Delhi and becoming a cardiologist.”

She said the support given by her parents and special curriculum and study plans at Sri Chaitanya College had helped her.

Sai Swetha who secured the all-India 36th rank said her parents motivated her, and target-oriented preparation helped her. “My dream is to specialise in cardiology,” she said.
