Cyberabad police commissionerate divided into East and West

IGs Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat and Naveen Chand are likely to be appointed as the commissioners of East and West Cyberabad, says source.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police commissionerate has been divided into Cyberabad East and Cyberabad West. The state government will appoint two IG-ranked officials for the new commissionerates after transferring the present commissioner, Mr C.V. Anand. According to sources, IGs Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat and Naveen Chand are likely to be appointed as the commissioners of East and West Cyberabad.

The new commissionerates will have extended jurisdiction into the neighbouring districts apart from Ranga Reddy. Urban and semi urban parts of Nalgonda, Medak and Mahbubnagar have also been included in these commissionerates.

Cyberabad splits into three zones
According to the GO issued on Thursday, Cyberabad West will have three zones —Balanagar, Madhapur and Shamshabad, with Balanagar, Pahadisharif, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar and Shadnagar as the divisions. Three Central Crime Stations will be set up in three zones in West Cyberabad. A Women's police station for the IT corridor will also be a part of it .

Cyberabad East will include three zones - L.B. Nagar, Malkajgiri and Bhongir. These zones will have Bhongir, Choutuppal, Malkajgiri, Kushaiguda, Vanasthalipuram, L.B. Nagar and Ibrahimpatnam as divisions. Three CCS in each zone and the Saroornagar Women's police station will be under East Cyberabad jurisdiction. The government has also allotted additional force to both the commissionerates based on proposals send by director general of police Anurag Sharma. These include 346 constables, 2,000 home guards, 135 ministerial staff and 41 outsourced employees
