Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wants to beat Telangana State by planting one crore saplings in one day.
In fact, the AP Chief Minister has directed the officials to set a record by planting one crore saplings in a single day. While stating that a special officer will be deployed exclusively for saplings across the state, Mr Naidu has directed the officials to announce awards for the people and institutions, who encourage the plantation programme.
Meanwhile, the Tela-ngana government al-so has decided to plant 25 lakh saplings and seedlings, on July 11 as part of Haritha Haram programme. The TS minister for animal husbandry and cinem-atography, Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav, has be-en monitoring this programme in Hyderabad. The Telangana government is providing 25 lakh plants, mostly the ones suitable for the weather conditions in Hyderabad, at 27 centres free of cost.
The AP Chief Minister’s decision to plant one crore saplings has attracted the attention of the two Telugu states, as he seems to beat his counterpart in Telangana.
