Black fungus claims two more lives in Telangana
KARIMNAGAR: Black fungus is slowly creeping in to dangerous levels in Karimnagar district where it has started claiming people’s lives.
Tahsildar of Medipally mandal, Rajeshwar, had just about recovered from coronavirus and began showing symptoms of black fungus. He was admitted in a private hospital in Hyderabad, where he passed away.
It is to be recalled that two from Jagtial district and another from Peddapalli district had succumbed to black fungus.
42-yr-old dies in Huzurabad
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old from Ganesh Nagar in Huzurabad town succumbed to black fungus.
Vasanth Kumar, who tested positive to coronavirus, was admitted in the civil hospital at Karimnagar on May 13. After a week’s treatment, the doctors noticed symptoms of black fungus and referred him to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad and he was admitted on May 21. He, however, lost the battle Sunday night. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Health officials appealed to the people to visit the nearest hospital as soon as they notice any symptoms of black fungus.
