Vaastu-conscious HD Kumaraswamy to have a daytime retreat near Soudha
Bengaluru: A firm believer in vaastu, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has decided to continue living in his house in J P Nagar where “good things” have always taken place in his life instead of moving to his official residence.
Sources close to the family say both his wife, Anita and brother, H D Revanna went scouting for a government bungalow with the perfect vaastu and suggested the Chief Secretary's residence on Palace
Road, adjacent to the Balabrooie guest house. But Mr Kumarswamy refused to move from his JP Nagar home , saying everything had been going well for him since he built it.
Going by sources, he may still use the Chief Secretary's residence to either rest during the day or to hold confidential meetings, which are not possible at Krishna, but would live in his J P Nagar house.
During his previous tenure as Chief Minister, Mr Kumarsawamy had occupied ‘Anugraha’, just behind Krishna. The bungalow was first occupied by his father, JD(S) supremo , H D Deve Gowda when he was Chief Minister, and later by his brother H D Revanna when he was Minister. The problem started when Mr Revanna found some fault with the vaastu of Anugraha and had a compound wall built to correct it, reducing the parking space for vehicles.
When the BJP came to power, Mr Yeddyurappa chose to stay in the ministerial quarters on Race Course road, and Mr Siddaramaiah, who does not believe in superstition, occupied the “jinxed” Cauvery. The last Chief Minister to occupy Cauvery before him was Mr J H Patel, who lost the elections in 1999.
As coordination committee chairman, Mr Siddarmaiah is likely to continue staying in Cauvery, and the neighbouring Anugraha will be allotted to
Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar, say sources.
