SSLC exams: Sivagangai district tops with 98.5 per cent pass
Chennai: Students from Tamil Nadu State Board have registered 94.5% pass percentage in the SSLC exams which is a slight increase compared to last year’s 94.4%.
As usual, the girls secured higher pass percentage than the boys with 96.4% of them clearing the exams whereas the boys registered 92.5% pass percentage.
The results were released online at 9.30 am on Wednesday and students also received their results on their registered mobile numbers simultaneously.
Over 45% of the schools got centum results as all the students appeared from 5,584 schools cleared the exams. The centum results also very high among the government schools as 1,687 out of 5456 schools achieved full results.
However, there was a steep fall in the number of centums in maths and science this year due to creative questions. It also resulted in a dip in the number of students who got scores above 481 as only 9,402 students alone got over 98% marks this year compared to 38,613 last year. Among the subjects, students have recorded highest pass percentage in science as 98.47% of students clearing the exam.
This year Sivagangai district has come out on top on the pass percentage with 98.50% and it was closely followed by Erode (98.38%) and Virudhunagar (98.26%).
In the differently-abled category visually challenged students registered 99.22% pass percentage and physically challenged students registered 90.95% pass percentage. Among the deaf and dumb candidates, 77.35% cleared the exam. In all 3,944 out of 4,433 differently abled candidates cleared the exam.
