Chennai: After messing up the anti-Sterlite protests resulting in unprecedented violence and killing of dozen people in the shoot out, the state government on Wednesday shunted out district collector N. Venkatesh and district superintendent of police P. Mahendran.
The government also dispatched two top IAS officers Gagandeep Singh Bedi and P W C Dawidar to restore peace in the violence hit Pearl City of TN.
“Bedi, who is also the state agricultural secretary, has been a crisis manager for the various governments during tsunami, cyclone Thaane and flash floods in 2005 and 2015 and is good with his public relation skills.
