Parents plan two protests on fee issue in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: With support coming from various quarters, the School Fee Regulation JAC has decided to up the ante in the coming days. Two protests have been planned on May 25 and June 11 to mount pressure on the government to regulate private schools collecting exorbitant fees, especially in twin cities.
JAC secretary Nagati Narayana stated that nearly 20 organisations such as Youth for Better Hyderabad, Janavani, Sadhana, Child Rights Protection Forum had joined the joint action committee to support the fight for reasonable fees.
Political parties too have offered to take up the issue.
At their meeting on Monday, the JAC members reviewed the activities taken up in the last two-and-a-half months and charted their future course of action. Mr Narayana criticised the government for not addressing the issue which was discussed at length during the Assembly Budget Session.
“A protest will be held at Commissionerate of School Education on Wednesday. A mahadharna will be conducted on June 11 at Indira Park just before reopening of schools. It is time government addresses this issue with top priority,” he said.
