Mumbai: Anil Kumble escapes blast in the nick of time!

The Shangri La was also playing host to several young cricketers from Australia, who will cancel their trip and return home.

Mumbai: Team India’s former captain and Bengaluru native Anil Kumble was staying in Hotel Shangri La in Colombo, which was attacked by a suicide bomber. According to sources in Sri Lanka, Kumble, his wife and two children were holidaying in Sri Lanka and were staying in Hotel Shangri La. They had breakfast in the hotel on Friday morning, and had left the hotel hours before the suicide bomber detonated himself at that breakfast venue and had headed to Yala National Park where the news came in that the hotel they were staying in was badly hit. Kumble and his family have cut short their family vacation and returned to Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The Shangri La was also playing host to several young cricketers from Australia, who will cancel their trip and return home.
