Hyderabad: A public interest litigation (PIL) has been moved before the Hyderabad High Court challenging the appointment of Putta Sudhakar Yadav as the chairman and V. Anita as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board.

The PIL has been filed by T. Omkar and two other members of the Hindu Chaitanya Samiti of Tirupati. It states that Mr Yadav, who has been a member of the Trust Board since 2015, has indulged in the propagation of non-Hindu religions, and Ms Anita has admitted in a TV interview that she is a Christian.

Mr Yadav attended a Christian religious function in Kadapa, in 2016, as its chief guest.

The petitioners have urged the court to suspend the GO issued by the AP Government appointing the two to the Trust Board.
