CBSE to set up centre for excellence in Kochi

The regional centre will be the seventh in India after Gurgaon, Panchkula, Kakinada, Pune, Rae Bareli and Kolkata.

Kozhikode: The Central Board of Secondary Education is gearing up to launch the regional centre of continuous professional development and centre of excellence in Kochi.

The centre aims at empowering the teachers and heads of schools with the right tools to provide quality education to children. It will cover the CBSE schools in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

At present, it is functioning temporarily from the regional centre of CBSE in Thiruvananthapuram. Later, after identifying a building in Kochi, it will function officially.

The regional centre will be the seventh in India after Gurgaon, Panchkula, Kakinada, Pune, Rae Bareli and Kolkata. The schools affiliated to CBSE can impart effective and continuous training to heads of institutions, teachers and others in systematic manner.
