Tirupati: Preparations for polls reviewed by Additional DG Ravisankar
Tirupati: Additional DG (law and order) Ravisankar on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for elections in Kadapa district.
He, along with Kurnool DIG Nagendra Kumar, visited the district police office and held a meeting with Rahul Dev Sarma, SP, Kadapa and Dr Phakirappa Kaginelli, SP, Kurnool. During the meeting, it was decided that criminals from previous elections and all rowdy sheeters be bind over.
He ordered officials to take precautionary measures to ensure a fair and peaceful elections.
After the meeting with the SPs, he went to Pulivendula to visit former MP Viveka at his house.
Chittoor District Election Officer and Collector P.S. Pradyumna has stated that almost 95 per cent of the work related to elections in 14 assembly and three parliamentary constituencies in the district had been completed. The remaining would be finished in a couple of days.
The Collector, addressing a meeting with nodal officers and poll officials at his chambers in Chittoor on Friday, said that postal ballot would be ensured for the officers, who are on poll duty. The Collector was informed by the concerned officers about the EVMs that have reached eight segments in the district till date.
