Tirupati: Panabaka pays visit to temple with coconuts
Tirupati: Panabaka Lakshmi, Telugu Desam nominee for Tirupati Lok Sabha seat, began her poll campaign in the temple city after offering 101 coconuts to Lord Venkateswara at Alipiri on Saturday.
The three-time MP from Nellore, accompanied by TD assembly nominee for Tirupati constituency and sitting legislator M. Suguna, and party cadre arrived in a procession here to offer the coconuts, seeking blessings of Lord for winning the LS seat.
Speaking to media persons, Ms. Panabaka said that her aim was to ensure special category status was granted to the State and the promises made to the state are implemented.
"I will strive for setting up the Dugarajapatnam Port, separate railway division with Tirupati as headquarters, realisation of NTPC-BHEL Power Projects Limited (NBPPL), and upgrading tourism infrastructure," she said.
