Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam readies to conduct Mahotsavam next month
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has been planning to hold the 516th Vardanthi Mahotsavam of saint poet Thallapaka Anna-macharya on a grand note at Tirumala, Tirupati and Thallapaka in Kadapa district from April 1 to 4
In persuance of this aim, TTD Tirupati JEO Mr B. Lakshmi Kantham on Saturday released posters for the festival that would be arranged under the aegis of TTD at Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Tirupati.
He said TTD plans to celebrate the event from April 1 to April 4 at Tirumala, Tirupati and Tallapaka on a grand scale.
The celebrations will kick off with the metlotsavam to be held at the Padala mandapam in Alipiri Tirupati on March 31 morning.
As part of the event hundreds of devotees under a project by the TTD, Annamacharya, will trek to Tirumala, chanting Bhajans, Annamacharya sankeertans and Kolatas. On April 1 Annamacharya Vardanthi will be performed at Narayanagiri gardens at Tirumala in the evening.
The JEO said that from April 1 to 4, there will be bhajans and bhakti sangeet programmes that would be conducted at the Dhyana mandir, near the 108-feet tall Annamacharya statue at Tallapaka, Mahati auditorium and at the Annamacharya kala mandir in Tirupati.
Prominent singers, dancers, bhagavathars will participate in the programme. TTD also plans to hold a three day literary convention at the Annamacharya kala mandir from April 1 where many scholars would be taking part.
